Inclusivity Statement – C-sectionUK

C-sectionUK is committed to fostering an inclusive, equitable and respectful environment for all individuals engaging with our services, digital content, courses and community spaces. We believe that maternity education and perinatal support should be accessible to everyone, irrespective of identity, background or circumstance. Our approach aligns with the values of dignity, respect, integrity and fairness reflected within professional standards for midwives, including the principles upheld by the NMC Code of Conduct.

We affirm and support all people who birth, parent or engage with our services, including but not limited to those within the LGBTQIA+ community, trans and non-binary parents, single parents, adoptive parents, blended families and culturally diverse backgrounds. Every client has the right to feel safe, recognised and empowered within their birth preparation and recovery journey.

Our commitment includes:

1. Respect for identity, autonomy and lived experience

We recognise diverse identities, expressions and family structures, and we provide education that reflects this. The language we use aims to be inclusive, person-centred and responsive to individual preference.

2. Promotion of informed choice and decision-making

We provide balanced, evidence-based information which supports autonomy and self-advocacy. No single pathway suits all birth journeys, and we respect each person’s right to make decisions about their body, care and recovery.

3. Professional integrity, confidentiality and data responsibility

We uphold strong privacy standards and data protection principles in line with Guernsey Data Protection legislation. Personal information, images and experiences are handled with care and stored appropriately. Consent for sharing personal or visual content is required, and may be withdrawn at any time.

4. Commitment to reducing bias and inequality

We acknowledge that disparities exist in maternity outcomes, and we actively work to challenge bias, discrimination and exclusion in both our language and our teaching. Continuous learning, reflection and improvement inform our practice.

5. Safe learning and community environments

Our digital platforms, teaching sessions and communication spaces are designed to remain respectful, non-judgemental and free from discrimination. We do not tolerate harassment, exclusion or harmful behaviour.

C-sectionUK exists to educate, support and empower all birth experiences.
Every family is valid.
Every identity is respected.
Every client is welcome here.
